Michael Thomas Doyle, a multi-instrumentalist from the North Shore of Boston, received his BFA in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in 2014. Having a reputable career as an educator, performer, session and studio musician, Michael's main concentrations include drum kit, guitar, bass, and keyboards. Michael's interest in music started at the age of 5, picking up drum kit and studying with local private teachers around the North Shore. In 2007, Michael was accepted to Berklee, studying with legendary artists such as Jackie Santos (Tavares, Beaver Brown), Terri Lyne Carrington (Herbie Hancock) behind the drum set, and guitarists such as Craig Hlady (Lois Lane & the Daily Planets), and Mike Mele (Fats Hammond, Michelle Wilson).
In addition to being a private instructor 7 years, Michael is also a highly regarded live musician. Michael has shared the stage with artists such as John Cafferty & Beaver Brown, Chris Isaak, The Slide Brothers, and many more. He has been the drummer for guitar genius Gary Backstrom (Gary Backstrom Band, Jiggle the Handle) for 8 years. Michael also shares a history with Cape Ann-based singer/songwriter Chelsea Berry, having co-produced her record “Devil & the Deep Blue Sea”. Michael has his own EP, “the Storm Colors EP” available on iTunes and Spotify as well as a side project, Kind King, with producer/engineer Mike Moschetto (Aviator, The Office Recording).
